Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao, also known as Camila Cabello, was born on March 3, 1997 in Coj mar, Havana, Cuba. She is a Cuban-American actress, singer, and songwriter, with her name pronounced as "ca-meela ca-beyo". Cabello rose to fame as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, where she established herself as a solo artist. She released collaborations such as "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes and "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly, with the latter reaching number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. Cabello left the group in 2016 and went on to release more collaborations with Pitbull and J Balvin, as well as her debut solo single "Crying in the Club". In 2018, Cabello released her debut studio album, "Camila", which reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart and received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Her lead single "Havana" topped charts in many countries, including the US and UK, and "Never Be the Same" reached the top ten in many countries. Cabello's duet with Mendes, "Se orita", became her second single to top the Billboard Hot 100. Her second studio album, "Romance" (2019), topped at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and number one in Canada. In 2021, Cabello made her acting debut in the film "Cinderella". Cabello grew up in East Havana with her father Alejandro Cabello, who is Mexican, and her mother Sinuhe Estrabao. She has a younger sister named Sofia. When Cabello was six years old, she moved to Miami, Florida with her mother, as her father could not get a visa at the time and joined the family around 18 months later. Cabello gained American citizenship in 2008 and attended Miami Palmetto High School, but left in the 2012-2013 school year to pursue her singing career. Cabello has been in a relationship with Canadian singer Shawn Mendes since July 2019. She has a large following on her Instagram account, with millions of followers worldwide. As of 2023, Cabello's net worth is $20 million, earned through her career as a singer, actress, director, songwriter, and voiceover artist. She has participated in Fifth Harmony, released many singles as a solo artist, and endorsed the clothing brand Kohl. Cabello is also a philanthropist, partnering with Save the Children and donating to GoFundMe campaigns, non-profit NGOs, and disaster relief efforts.
