Belknap is a native of Damariscotta, Maine. She is the daughter of David Belknap and Louise Belknap. She went to Lincoln Academy, Newcastle Maine. While at Middlebury College in Vermont she developed an interest in acting. It was at this point that the American Conservatory Theater awarded her an MA in fine arts. Belknap has several TV credits, which include episodes with regulars on Medical Investigation, Third Watch, and The Handler. She also performed recurring roles on Deadline and Law & Order Law & Order Special Victims units in addition to part-time guest stars. Belknap made her debut as a feature-length film in The Reality Trap, an independent film. She was in Alchemy.
